DonorsChoose

Some of you might remember my friend Ish of NYC Bloggers fame. (Yes, I know, we haven't done much with that site in a while...)

Well, aside from being a good friend, great dad and fellow Brooklynite, Mike (his real name) is also a philanthropist. He works for DonorsChoose, a cool not-for-profit that allows school teachers to get the funding they desperately need for anything from books to teaching supplies to outings.

Well, DonorsChoose is now up for for the American Express Members Project. (You know, the commercial with Scorcese and Ellen Degeneres where some random guy walks in and talks about a lake?) They've made the top 50 and are up for the $5 million prize. That money would help out a lot of classrooms!

They're in the quarter final rounds and need people to vote for them, so if you have any of the American Express family of cards, GO AND VOTE.
