I'm in a rush this morning but I wanted to let everyone know that the appointment went well except for one thing: I haven't gained any weight in three weeks! How the hell did that happen?!? I'm eating like a HOSS! The doctor wasn't at all worried about it though and reassured me about it.
Anyway, more details on the appointment and my follow up plan a little later when I get settled at work, probably as an addition to this post.
In the meantime, here's the first belly bump pic I've ever taken:
I feel like photoshopping a "Sea Monkeys Inside" logo next to one of my tattoos.

As I mentioned earlier, doctor's appointment went well yesterday. She weighed me (we won't talk about this), tested my sugar and protein (both fine) and asked me how I was doing, if I was having pain or any unusual symptoms, etc. Once we'd gotten the past three weeks worth of concerns out of the way (and my freak-out about NOT gaining), we talked about my course of action going forward. I'll be having bi-weekly appointments from now on which will include a sonogram to monitor any changes in my cervical length. Early foreshortening can be a sign of premature labor, which is the main thing we want to avoid here. I'll also be having a fetal anatomy scan in two weeks. Hopefully, if the sea monkeys cooperate, we'll be able to find out their sexes. The doctor warned me that they might not get to do the full scan in one pass because it's actually much harder to do with multiples so we might have to continue it at another session.
At the end of the visit, she took out the Doppler monitor and scanned my belly for heartbeats. I was amazed at how different they sounded. Both were galloping "thumpa thumpa" fast but the first twin was slightly faster and he seemed to be at the front of my uterus. The other little monkey seemed to be hanging out in the back cause there was a lot of static and noise and the heartbeat was softer but still strong. I keep joking that s/he's sitting at the back of the bus or on the ass end of things.
So things look good and Mark and I are REALLY looking forward to the anatomy scan on the 30th.
You sounded so great Sea Monkeys with your thumpa-thumpa heartbeats! Keep growing! Mama's gonna work on tryna feed you more...
